The Dualsteer® is a patented double steering system that combines the central articulation of the frame with the steering of the front wheels: this allows to realize a real steering angle equal to 70°, with the greater percentage of steering to the wheels of the front axle for ensure greater directionality.
From the operational point of view the driver only needs to operate the steering wheel because the control of the engagement proportionality of the two devices, which act simultaneously, is guaranteed by a hydraulic circuit and by a specific system of mechanical connection of synchronization. The hydraulic circuit acts both on the steering cylinders of the central articulation and on the steering cylinders of the front wheels while the connection system guarantees the synchrony and the progressiveness of the steering.
The additional hydraulic cylinder on the central steering increases both the power steering with high accuracy at very low speeds also in presence of high load on the axles, both the direction and stability on road transfer at high speeds.
The Dualsteer® system therefore combining safety and stability of the steering wheel (RS) version with the steering performance and manoeuvrability of the version with central articulation (AR).
The turning radius limited to 2200 mm (with wheels 280/70-18) makes the Orion Dualsteer® successful when used in vineyards and orchards with narrow row spacing and greenhouse cultivation.
Also, on steep slopes, in comparison with the crawled units, the Dualsteer has the advantage to reduce the damages and ground compaction normally "plowed" by blades and iron tracks when steering at the end of the field, while assuring the same steering radius and a higher stability due to the greater ability to adapt to the conformation of the soil.
Do not overlook finally activities of greens maintenance and in the work related to the municipalities, where being able to move in tight and narrow spaces is crucial to work perfectly.
Comparison with wheels 280/70-18:
- Turning radius RS version: 3240 mm
- Turning radius AR version: 2700 mm
- Turning radius DUALSTEER® version: 2200 mm
